Dry cow block raises your liquid assets

A DRY cow feed block has been launched by Rumenco, Burton-on-Trent, Staffs.

It claims the blocks ensure a hassle-free and proven method of boosting milk yield in the next lactation by as much as 350 litres a cow year at a cost of £9 a cow.

The block contains high levels of digestible undegradable protein (DUP) for improved milk yield and quality, and XP yeast to help prime the rumen for the production ration, says Rumenco.

It is also said to have a good magnesium level to help minimise the risk of milk fever in the herd. Each 22.5kg block costs about £8 and is available from merchants (01283-511211).
