Dutch giant debut

BIGGEST 6-row self-propelled harvester on view at the demonstration – and also making its first appearance in the UK – was Dutch manufacturer Agrifacs WKM Big Six.

To reduce soil compaction, the 23t capacity machines weight is spread over three axles fitted with 710×34 tyres, with the twinning of the rear wheels stated to give a 3m (9.8ft) footprint.

Power for the six hydrostatic drive motors and five hydraulic components drive motors comes from a 365hp Deutz engine and six wheel steering gives a quoted 18m (outside diameter) turning radius.

Lifting and primary soil removal is by self-seeking vibrating shares and two turbines with automatic depth and level control; cleaning is carried out by four turbines with axial cleaning rolls.

before the crop is passed to the tank via an 80cm (2.7ft) wide conveyor.
