THAMES WALKER Arthur Anderson successfully linked up with the EBLEX narrowboat at Teddington Lock on Tuesday (Sept 8).

Journalist Arthur, who is walking to raise money for the Guild of Agricultural Journalists Charitable Trust, intends to complete the 180-mile Thames Walk by Tuesday of next week (w/e Sept 17).

He is being sponsored by the English Beef and Lamb Executive and intends to cover around 18 miles a day.

He was sent on his way on Sunday by the Mayor of Greenwich and a group of well-wishers from the Guild.

On Saturday Arthur and his wife Andrea will be guests of honour at a riverside barbecue at The Perch Public House at Oxford which will raise funds for the Butchers and Drovers Charitable Institution.
