Electronic control for tractor speed

AT peak workload periods, precision can suffer at the expense of speed of operation.

To overcome this potential conflict of priorities, Horstine Farmery has introduced an electronic ground speed control unit which removes the need to manually change land wheel sprockets.

Designed to fit its TMA4 (Tractor Mounted Airflow) applicator, it consists of an in cab unit into which the operator can key the application rate. This is then maintained in line with the forward speed of the tractor by hydraulically varying the speed of each metering unit shaft.

Price, factory fitted to new machines, £1639 (01430-827331).
