Emigration forces Petroc dispersal

PLANNING to emigrate to Canada, the Shrimpton family held the first of two sales to disperse the Saint Petroc herd of Holstein Friesians.

And at Bodmin, Cornwall, they saw a top price of 1450gns.

Leading the heifers was Saint Petroc Sietske, a freshly calved daughter of Bismay SEL Mountain giving 29.8kg/day. She was bought by Peter Sargent, Cornwall.

Best of the cows sold for 1300gns when C J Harry and Sons, Helston, Cornwall, secured Trelissick Frisky Marie 16th, a Bear-Path Frisky in-calf cow.
