Environment boss to face court?
THE Environment Agency may prosecute its own chairman, Lord De Ramsay, over alleged excessive abstraction of water on his 2,832ha (7,000 acre) estate.
The possible prosecution will take place against Worlick Farm Ltd, a company of which De Ramsay is a director.
The agency is investigating the capacity of a reservoir on his land at Abbots Ripton, Cambridgeshire, which was supposed to hold 18m gallons. Recent tests have put the capacity at 18m gallons.
