EU farm ministers start talks on market shake-up
EUROPEAN UNION (EU) ministers begin marathon talks today on the biggest package of agricultural measures they have discussed for at least three years.
On the agenda are reforms of the EUs banana import regime and controversial changes to the olive oil and tobacco sector.
Ministers will also discuss how much land to set aside next year to prevent the growth of grain mountains. A deal is likely by Wednesday or Thursday.
