European report on prices charged for agricultural products

The relationship between prices paid to Europes farmers for agricultural products and prices charged by retail outlets is the subject of a report to be presented by the European Unions Consumer Advisory Committee at a conference in Brussels this week.

Emma Bonino, consumer affairs commissioner, hopes to ensure any cuts in guaranteed farm prices agreed at the end of current negotiations on reform of the common agricultural policy are passed on to consumers.
