Farm fund faces tough times
THE Royal Scottish Benevolent Institution (RSABI), which helps farmers facing financial hardship, is having money problems of its own.
The RSABI paid out just over £250,000 last year, but donations barely topped £100,000.
The annual report reveals that Dumfries and Galloway received some £46,000 in grants, but received only £3000 in donations.
Lanarkshire was granted £27,000 but raised only £319, while Aberdeenshire was granted £45,000 and raised £3000.
