Farm pollution fall
FARM pollution incidents fell to their lowest level since recording began in the late-1980s, according to figures released by the Environ-ment Agency on Wednesday.
In 1995, there were a total of 2720 farm pollution incidents in England and Wales compared with 3329 the previous year.
And major farm incidents (category one) have dropped by 86% between 1990 and 1995 with just 32 incidents reported last year.
Dairy farms provided the largest source of agricultural pollution, totalling 40% of all farm incidents, while just 5% of cases were attributed to arable farms. *
