Farm show to focus on countryside

THE Three Counties Agricultural Society is changing the name of its flagship event so that it reflects the changing emphasis of its content.
The societys usual June show will be renamed the Three Counties Countryside Show in an attempt to attract more visitors.
But show organisers claim the event will retain farming at its heart.
It will also include an enhanced countryside area and plans are underway to incorporate the Gloucestershire Taste of the West Food Fair.
Society chief executive Chris Milne said he hoped livestock would return to the show after being banned because of foot-and-mouth in 2001.
The year before, show organisers were forced to pull the plug on dairy classes following the withdrawal of several leading exhibitors.
