Farmer gives away new-born lambs

A NORTH YORKSHIRE farmer is giving away 40 new lambs after the market price for sheep collapsed.

Dawn Lee of North Farm, Lealholm, Whitby, is making the offer after calculating that her flock of 300 Frieslands will produce too many lambs and too little profit.

Her lambs fetched between £10 and £12 each two years ago, but today they are worth only £2 each.
