Farmers’ markets set to prosper

FARMERS markets are experiencing a revival, reports The Independent.

There are over a dozen now held regularly in the UK. The article reckons, if US experience is anything to go by, they will grow quite strongly.

The number of such markets in the USA has grown from 300 in 1974 to 2500 today.

The National Farmers Union recently held a seminar for council officials on farmers markets.

But some launched in the UK have already collapsed because of poor marketing.
