Farmers promote pork on TV show

TWO pig farmers are using an appearance on BBC2s Ready Steady Cook programme to promote the quality and versatility of British pork.

Mark and Diane Edwards who farm near Omskirk, Lancashire, cook head-to-head on an episode of the show at 16.30pm on Monday (29 October).

The couple included their own pork and dry cure bacon in the bag of ingredients they took onto the pre-recorded show.

TV chefs Phil Vickery and Brian Turner used the home-grown product and local vegetables to produce a range of tasty dishes in only 20 minutes.

Mr and Mrs Edwards are members of the Meat and Livestock Commissions British Meat Quality Standards Mark scheme for pigmeat.
