Farmers sell beef over the internet
A TEAM of Scottish farmers, headed by the countrys biggest landowner, the Duke of Buccleuch, have developed a web site to sell beef direct to the consumer.
Buccleuch Beef was set up three years ago to market grass-beef from the dukes estates and neighbouring independent farms across southern Scotland.
The group hopes to gain £100,000 worth of extra sales from its internet operation to add to the £3m turnover it achieves through more conventional sales channels.
