Farmers’ wives ‘dont have real jobs’

FARMERS wives might be “cooking all day and lambing all night” but they are not regarded as doing a “real job”, according to a report in The Independent.

The finding emerged from a project carried out among her hill-farmer neighbours in mid-Wales by social sciences student Sally Orton.

Ms Orton found without exception that non-farming people all had a very negative perception about what the job of being farmers wife entailed.
