Farming benefits Burgundians

THE Burgundy region of France benefits from a strong agricultural base with high added value, reports the Financial Times in a special focus on the area.

Burgundys population in agricultural employment continues to be above the national average of 4.8% at just over 7%.

This is partly because the percentage of the region devoted to capital-intense crops such as cereals and rapeseed is smaller than the rest of France.

Agriculture generates 6% of the regions output.
