Farming Online buyers revealed

FARMING Online, Britains oldest agricultural internet service, has been taken over in a management buy-out, the company has confirmed.
Simon Bradley and Peter Griffith purchased the portal which was part of parent company FOL Networks, it emerged on Monday (26 November).
Mr Bradley is Farming Onlines general manager. Mr Griffith is director of Farming Onlines arable centre.
FOL Networks was forced to call in the liquidators last month after failing to find a buyer for the Farming Online site.
The Leicestershire internet company Waveworks has since purchased the website hosting and the Corporate Solutions parts of FOL Networks.
Waveworks commercial director Dale Moreton said he looked forward to developing and improving the “online business integration” of customers.
A statement posted on Farming Online last week had said that the site had been sold, but the company declined to reveal the new owners.
The statement said only that the new owners were “from farming backgrounds and have worked closely with Farming Online”.
