Farming wins crop of New Year honours
JOHN Krebs, the scientist responsible for devising the governments field research project to assess the link between badgers and bovine tuberculosis, was knighted in the New Year honours list.
Prof Krebs, chief executive of the Natural Environment Research Council was recognised for his contribution to behavioural ecology.
