HAY, silage or straw can be fed out by Tancos big bale feeder/shredder.
Badged Silamek, the tractor-mounted machine can either be set up to dispense into feed troughs, or its side-mounted deflector removed completely to bed up yards. Spread width is up to 3m (10ft) when shredding straw.
Material is fed into the machines two shredding rotors by a hydraulically-powered, variable-speed, chain/slat floor.
Tanco says the Silamek is capable of handling either 4ft or 5ft diameter round bales but as yet has not been tested with the medium square-type package.
Price is expected to be about £4000.
• The County Carlow-based firm has also updated its tractor loader range, with the introduction of two models at the bottom end of its line-up.
The T-70 and 858-T models are both designed for tractors from 40-80hp and have a lift capacity of 0.8t (60cm out on the pallet forks) to full height. Standard fitting on the T-70 is Tancos T-series mounting bracket system for better maintenance access to the engine.
Feeding or bedding is possible with the Tanco Silamek.
