Fife growers link with Tyneside pool

CENTRAL Farmers, the co-op based in Methil, Fife is linking up with one of Britains leading grain traders to offer a pool marketing service for grain.

The partnership with GrainCo of Newcastle-upon-Tyne is expected to bring growers better prices.

It is expected to be in place for the 1999 harvest and growers are now being invited to sign contracts.

Minimum tonnage is 250 tonnes or total tonnage if production is less than that figure.
