Final Agenda 2000 pact will have
little resemblance to original proposals
FORDYCE MAXWELL says in The Scotsman that the final Agenda 2000 deal will likely bear little resemblance to the blueprint unveiled last week.
Mr Maxwell goes on to comment on the Budget, quoting land agent Hugh Fell who believes that phasing out retirement relief might bring more farms and milk quota onto the market this year.
Mr Maxwell says that the increase in fuel prices was the biggest knockback in the Budget for most farmers.
