Finnie to battle for more aid
SCOTTISH rural affairs minister Ross Finnie is mounting a campaign to get more central government help for the farming industry north of the Border.
His first stop will be a meeting with chancellor Gordon Brown on Friday this week.
Leaders of the National Farmers Union of Scotland (NFUS) will be taking the case for help to the governor of the Bank of England, Eddie George, when they meet next week.
Some 1200 NFUS members staged a demonstration in Edinburgh yesterday about the farming crisis.
