Five new conditioners

THE 98 season sees Pottinger introduce five new models of Extra Dry swath conditioner/spreaders to its Cat Nova disc mower conditioner range.

A joint development between Pottinger and the Dutch Institute at Wageningen, the new machines incorporate a set of adjustable swath spreading vanes mounted in a hood. It is a system claimed to allow a wide variety of conditioned swaths to be formed – from a full width spread to the narrow swath required to prevent excessive loss when silaging in catchy weather conditions.

The conditioning unit comprises a tined rotor working in conjunction with a multi-ribbed plate -adjusting the proximity of the ribbed plate enable the degree of conditioning to be controlled to suit conditions.

Available in five different models to cater for cutting widths from 2.1m to 3m (6.8ft to 9.8ft), price of a 2.85m (9.4ft) Cat Nova Extra Dry swath conditioner is listed at £8790.
