Flier in Devon…
AN Australian airline pilot based in Hong Kong recently bought a farm in Devon during a two-day visit to the UK.
Wanting to relocate before the repossession in 1997, the purchaser had been on agent Stags books for about a year.
Interested after receiving details of the 105-acre Penstone Barton, Colebrooke near Crediton, by fax, he arranged a viewing and offered the £275,000 asking price for the unit.
The traditional stock farm includes a thatched house in need of complete modernisation.
"During the last year we have added an increasing number of mainly expatriates to our books who regard Devon property prices as reasonable," says Stags agent Tim Burrage.
