Floods threaten Chinese farmers
MILLIONS of Chinese farmers are under threat from the countrys rivers flooding, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Floods last summer highlighted the presence of farmers on scarce land inside flood defences along several important rivers, including Chinas biggest, the Yangtze.
Official reports say a million such “migrants” will be relocated, but international experts say that up to 4 million people need to be moved from the Yangtzes banks.
