Foliar urea is needed now

WITH yield expectations high after good establishment and recent rains, late nitrogen as foliar urea at the milky ripe stage could be worthwhile to offset protein dilution in wheats with milling potential, suggests Omex.

Over five years that has boosted proteins by an average of 1%, notes the firms Andy Eccles.

Adding sulphur at the same time, in the shape of Protein Plus, should help maximise protein quality, he adds.

Against a potential premium of as much as £18/t, the product costs under £20/ha (£8/acre). &#42
