Forage nut is a quality replacer
DEVON-BASED Ellacott Feeds is offering a blend of lucerne, dried grass and sugar beet pulp in a new Forage Saver nut. It analyses at 90% dry matter, 15% crude protein and 10 ME.
The company claims up to 6kg a day can be fed to dairy cows to replace 21kg of fresh grass silage at 25% dry matter and 10 ME. (1kg of its Forage Saver nuts replaces 3.5kg of silage.) It is said to be suitable for cattle and sheep, and it is available in Devon and Cornwall at £124/t delivered (bulk blown in load sizes of 4-10t). *
