Friday stock sales start at Colchester

TODAY sees the first Friday sale of stock at Colchester market introduced following the closure of Chelmsford exactly a week ago. Vendors making the 20-mile trip between the two markets have been offered prompt payment by first-class post on the Monday following the day of sale by auctioneers Stanfords. Its normal sale of store cattle and pigs which is usually held on a Thursday will also swap to the new Friday fixture. &#42
