Funds for Cornish is teams objective

A TEAM of three has been appointed to help Cornish farmers and growers get maximum benefit from Objective 1 funds.

They will be aiming for at least £50m for the numerous big projects identified by the Cornish Agricultural Council; CAC is one of the task forces set up under the Objective 1 programme, and will direct the team of three. There are 15 strategic plans to cover dairying, pigs and poultry, red meats, horticulture, potatoes, combinable crops, industrial, energy and novel crops, woodland and forestry, wood processing, products and services, and farm tourism, environment protection, business support, food processing, branding and marketing, and organic farming.

The teams main work will involve helping applicants with their grant applications. Its leader is farmers son David Rodda, and his colleagues will be Roger Metcalfe and Melanie Sanders. &#42
