Fungicide named

ONE of the first of a new generation of broad-spectrum cereal fungicides – the strobilurins – now has a name. Zenecas ICIA5504, announced at the 1994 Brighton Crop Protection conference, is to be called Amistar.

The foliar fungicide is seen as the companys most significant new product, with registration being sought in most of Europe, the US and Japan. However it is unlikely to be available in the UK before 1998, a spokesman says.
