Further delay in BSE report
THE judicial inquiry into the BSE crisis looks likely to take twice as long as originally planned, according to a report in The Herald today.
The final report from the inquiry was due to be published before the end of last year.
But the date has already been pushed back twice because of the number of witnesses who wanted to give evidence.
The newspaper says the final report will now be delayed by a further year because of the weight and complexity of the evidence.
It quotes the spokeswoman for the inquiry as saying it is “fair enough” to assume the final report would be ready before Christmas.
