FUW with Assembly

THE Farmers Union of Wales has backed most of the Welsh Assemblys blueprint for the future of farming west of Offas Dyke.

Unlike NFU Cymru/Wales, which is unhappy with much of the first draft, the Aberystwyth-based organisation has welcomed the broad thrust of the document.

However, the FUW wants the final version to include more commitment to assisting new entrants, less emphasis on exploiting niche markets and confirmation of the assemblys ability to lobby the EU directly on issues that affect Wales. &#42
