Fyffes links with Cape and Outspan

THREE of the worlds best-known fruit brands are coming together in a £36 million joint venture.

Fyffes, Europes leading importer and distributor of fresh produce, said it had signed a deal with Cape and Outspan.

Fyffes is paying £24m for a 50% stake in Capespans European subsidiary, based in Buckinghamshire.

In addition, Fyffes is taking a 105 stake in the parent company based in Cape Town for a maximum of £12m.

Fyffes has been involved in distributing Cape and Outspan for years and the deal is intended to formalise the relationship.
