Gaia Trust’s sustainable aim

THE Gaia Trust has now bought up some 121ha (300 acres) in Devon and Cornwall to demonstrate there is an alternative to intensive farming, reports The Guardian.

The trust aims to create sustainable jobs without harming the environment. Its latest project will have organic livestock, free-range poultry and bees and will grow crops for an organic vegetable box scheme.

The trust has also been running a series of trials on behalf of the ministry of agriculture into the production and marketing of high-value essential oils.
