Geest lifts profits 15% in 1998
GEEST, the chilled foods group, lifted profits 15% to £28.1 million in 1998 as it continued to benefit the disposal of its banana business three years ago.
The group, which has undergone wide-ranging restructuring, said its prepared salads, soups, sauces and pasta market was set for strong growth in 1999.
Turnover from continuing businesses was up 14% at £474.4m.
