Genesis says no to ACCS verification

ALTERNATIVE assurance company Genesis has ruled out offering ACCS verification under licence, for now at least.

"We do not want to pursue that route," says managing director Martin Barker.

Cross-licencing between ACCS and FABBL may allow one verifier to cover two schemes with one visit, but Genesis is still the only company to offer an integrated, whole farm assurance package, he says.

Maltsters, compounders, shippers and millers, apart from RHM, now accept Genesis grain on equal terms to ACCS, and ACCS is no nearer achieving UKAS accreditaion than Genesis is, he maintains.

"If we get it first, perhaps ACCS will want to operate our standards under licence." &#42
