Globus range means the Legend styling lives on
THE Legend "look" lives on, with the launch of the Landini Globus tractor range.
The 47-63hp tractors are similar in appearance to the Landini Legend, the firms flagship tractor line-up, which appeared in pre-production format at the last Smithfield Show. Landini says that this shared tractor styling will apply to most of its future wheeled models.
Globus power comes from Perkins engines through a standard 12F/12R transmission. Options include a 15F/15R high speed, 25mph box as well as a 25F/25R creeper version. A reverse shuttle system is also available.
Other features include 60í steering angle front axle, four-wheel braking, electro-hydraulically engaged front and rear diffs, and a three-speed pto.
Landini says that the Globus tractors should be available in the UK from April 1997, when model prices will be announced.
• The Legend range topper, the 138hp DT145, finally makes it to the UK when it joins the Globus tractors on the Landini stand at Smithfield. The tractor first app-eared in farmers weekly back in 1994 (Machinery, Oct 7). *
