Glorious Devon for starters but dampeners come later

Devon County Show got off

to a glorious start but on

day two, when Farmlife

visited, sunshine had turned

to storm with torrential

rain driving showgoers

into the marquees,

where business was brisk

After the deluge: Flash floods caused by the storm subsided quickly but people took longer to dry out.

Top right:

Biosecurity in the animal

pens included plastic

overshoes.

Inset right: Giant dragonfly

and birdbath by

Ben May, Weare Gifford, Devon.

Above: Butchers Gerald David &Sons grow it, show it and sell it – top quality meat, that is- from their own and other

Devon farms.

Right: Devon Donkey Sanctuary pals.

Above: Linda Richards and Don Whip of Definitely Devon had

a hectic three hours serving strawberries and cream while the

storm raged outside the Food &Drink marquee.
