Government adviser dismisses bone-in-beef ban
SIR COLIN BERRY, chairman of the Advisory Committee on Pesticides, said the ban on bone-in-beef was unscientific and trivial.
He claimed in a speech given at the annual Sentry Farming Conference in Cambridgeshire that the odds of contracting new variant of Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease from the source were one in 1.2 billion.
He was highly critical of the expenditure of large sums of money on the “prevention” of what he called non-existent health risks.
