Grain drier dealer goes Japanese

ESSEX-based grain drier specialist, Master Farm Equipment, has diversified into the compact tractor market with three models from the Mitsubishi range.

For Mitsubishi, one of Japans biggest industrial groups, tractor production is just one of a long list of interests. Although the full range of tractors includes models from 18hp to 45hp, Master Farm is initially offering only the 20hp, 26hp and 30hp tractors. Other models will be imported later for evaluation.

Engines for the range are built by Mitsubishi and are liquid cooled. The 20hp and 26hp units both have three cylinders with indirect injection, and the 30hp engine is a four-cylinder design with direct injection. Hydrostatic drive is on the options list, with two speed ranges on the 20hp model and three ranges for the larger tractors; mechanical transmissions have nine forward and three reverse gears on the 26hp and 30hp tractors, reducing to 6×2 with the 20hp engine.

Specification for all three tractors includes a rear linkage with position control nand optional draft control. Customers can specify either turf or agricultural tyres at no extra cost, and cabs are available instead of the standard rollbars. Prices start at £7571 for the 20hp model with gearbox transmission. &#42

Top model in Mitsubishs UKtractor range is the MT301D, powered by a 30hp three-cylinder engine.
