Granules mop up that hazardous spill

SPILLAGES of hazardous liquids such as oils, fuels and chemicals can be dealt with using a range absorbent granules made from paper pulp.

Designed to remove most hydrocarbon spills from a variety of hard surfaces, the Spilkleen granules are claimed to be more absorbent than clay granules while being dust-free and lighter to apply.

By modifying the cellulose paper pulp, Spilkleen also says it has been able to alter the granules preference for absorbing either water or oil, making them suitable for different applications.

Prices range from £0.20/kg to £1.50/kg (0116-247 7907).
