Grazing study farms wanted

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is looking for livestock farmers in South Devon to take part in a four-year extensive grazing study starting in April 2006.

To qualify, farmers will need to devote 3ha of a semi-improved grazed grass field to lenient summer cattle grazing followed by exclusion of livestock from July onwards.

The study area includes all farmland south and east of the A38 between Exeter and Plymouth, plus the area west of Exeter between Bovey Tracey and Dunsford, and the western side of East Devon.
