Griffiths highlights disqualified ostrich boss
CONSUMER affairs minister Nigel Griffiths used the publication of the Insolvency Service figures for the second quarter of 1997 to highlight the case of a disqualified director connected with ostrich farming.
He quoted the case of Brian Ketchell, who was disqualified for seven years in May. He had acted as a director of Ostrich Farming Corporation.
This was one of several troubled ostrich investment schemes.
The figures were the first to include a breakdown by sector of disqualified directors. This will help to indicate whether there is a trend towards malpractice in specific sectors.
