IMPROVING the relationship between farmers and supermarkets is the aim of a new guide.
The Institute of Grocery Distribution has produced a new leaflet, Small Business Guide to working with Supermarkets, which explains how farmers should approach their dealings with the multiples.
It gives advice on how farmers can get their foot in the door, what the retailers want, and how to get the most from the product. It also includes information on how the major retailers are structured and a "whos who and whats what" of the supermarketing world. *
