Heavy metal tally from Kverneland
"NEW" stickers aplenty on the Kverneland stand, with a total of eight machines making their first public appearances.
Asked why the decision to launch so much metal at the one venue, produced the response: The company was almost forced into this position because there are still so many new machines in the pipeline.
Heading the new product line-up from the Scandinavian firm were ES mounted and RB semi-mounted ploughs, which for the first time are offered with the dual protection of auto-reset and shearbolt.
The ES160 models come in three-five furrow format with manual vari-width and mechanical front furrow adjustment. Hydraulically adjustable vari-width is an option.
Kverneland says ES160 ploughs are particularly suited to use with its Packomat seeder, and price in typical four-furrow format is £11,695.
Further up the plough sizing scale, the RB 100 semi-mounteds start at five furrows and top out at eight.
Designed for coupling up to high hp tractors, the RBs have on-the-move vari-width fitted as standard along with universal joint hitch for tight headland turns. Price of a typical six-furrow is £21,685.
Still on cultivation, the CLB Stubble Cultivator combines tine, disc and roller in the one residue incorporating machine.
Up front, winged chisel tines penetrate while a following bank of scalloped discs provides the mixing action.
Bringing up the rear is a consolidating cage roller.
Four CLB models are on offer, with working widths from 2.2-4.7m (7ft 2in-15ft 5in). Price of the 3.8m version (12ft 5in) is £12,286.
Completing the cultivator debuts are a range of trailed, single, double and reversible packers.
Moving onto grassland, the firm has stretched its mounted drum mowers to more than 1.85m (6ft) for the first time. The KD210C and KD240C measure 2.1m (7ft) and 2.4m (8ft).
Power requirement is about 50hp, and to keep weight down plastic conditioning tines are fitted. Both mowers fold vertically for transport, and are priced at £7400 and £8100, respectively.
Added to range
On a similar theme, Kverneland has also added to its mounted disc mower range, but this time to fill in the gaps. The 2m (6ft 6in) TA 345 and 2.4m (8ft) 346 slot in between the firms smaller machines and its flagship mounted models, the 2.8m (9ft) and 3.2m (10ft 6in) mowers. Price of the TA346 is £7630.
Finally, new top model in the diet feeder line-up is a 14cu.m machine. The KD514 uses the same four-auger mixing principle as its smaller siblings – 12cu.m and 10cu.m wagons – and comes with a "load cell" weighing system as standard. Price is £22,500.
• New machine number eight is no more than a simple upgrade on an existing design. The UN2600 potato harvester is now available with land drive for working in wet conditions.
This 14cu m KD514 diet feeder was one of eight new machines packing the Kverneland stand. The firms flagship feeder is priced at £22,500.
