Hedge-laying first for Scots


THE first ever Scottish hedge-laying competition will be held next Saturday at a farm at Ancrum, near Jedburgh.

It is aimed at fostering interest and knowledge in the dying art.

The Herald looks at some of the techniques involved in building a successful hedgerow as well as the advantages for farmer and wildlife of doing so.
