THE Herald interviews Scott Walker, in the latest of its series of profiles of the new regional policy advisers appointed by the National Farmers Union of Scotland.

Mr Walker is an economist by training, having graduated six years ago from the former Dundee Institute of Technology (now the university of Abertay).

His regional role brings with it responsibility as lead official serving the unions soft fruit and potato committees.

He will also support commodity director Peter Logie on the combinable crops committee.
