THE Home-Grown Cereals Authority has appointed Alastair Dickie as Director of Market Information.

Mr Dickie, who currently chairs the HGCA Market Information Advisory Committee, takes up his new post on 1 August.

He has previously been managing director of Louis Dreyfus Trading as well as spending time on London commodity markets before running his own consultancy.

“HGCAs market information is unrivalled for the quality and independence of its analysis, and that is due to the great team of economists behind it,” said Mr Dickie.

“I hope to build on the considerable progress that has already been made in developing and delivering market information services to the cereals and oilseeds industry.”

Paul Biscoe, HGCA chief executive, said that Mr Dickies background and commodity trading skills would complement the considerable talents and wide industry experience of existing HGCA senior management.

“His appointment completes the senior team I will be relying on to listen to our levy payers and deliver the services they demand,” he added.
