Hillsdown poultry chief quits

BILL CLARK, Hillsdown Holdings poultry division chief executive, has resigned within a year of retirement.

His departure is the latest in a long line of boardroom changes. Ray MacKie, finance director, stepped down recently and George Greener, group chief executive, has also given notice of his intention to leave.

Hillsdown is trying to sell its poultry interests. It said it had received 40 expressions of interest and that it would probably be sold to a venture capital-backed consortium.

The group is also trying to sell its furniture companies and plans to float Fairview Homes and its chilled food interests.
